What a fun thought--half a smile. And if half a smile can brighten the world it is certainly worth trying for the entire thing.
This has such a joyful feel to it. Perfect rhymes and wonderful cadence to brighten and enhance the theme.

I so understand why the half smile is your favourite. It's that brilliant moment just before you know they're gonna lose it and crack up! Doesn't take much coaxing to see a transition from a half-smile to wholehearted laughter. A cute piece Brooke that sets a whole smile free in the reader!
Cheers
Paula

Pure whimsy it is Brooke. One cannot help but smile when seeing a smiling child. Sawyer looks like he just discovered something new. Like...so that is what that is.
Truly enjoyable.

Excellent as always. Smooth flow with words that are chipper and fun, upbeat and enlightening. Makes me smile, in full. I haven't read-up on your work in awhile...always a pleasure. THanks again for the enjoyable work!

You might want to hide how much you love that half smile because once he realizes it he will take advantage of it. Like when he does something wrong he'll flash you his half smile and you'll forget what he did because he's so cute. Great job

Hi, Brooke. "but when he flashed that half a smile,
my heart would fill with glee." My God, he is so darned cute. LOL...Great poem to go with this picture, my friend. Bob

The smile is everything. It captures happiness and all the great things in this life as you say,
"Just think if he'd used all his smile
in its entirety --
the sun would never have to shine,
so bright the world would be."
Who needs the sun with that smile! Well done.

Great poem my friend, also with a great picture of your grandson. Your word flow is good and rhyming is great, as you tell about half a smile. Yes I have put the two halves together and make it complete.

Pure, impish delight, as always, Brooke! I hope you have compiled a book of these shorties - I can see parents sitting with kids on lap, reading these with total fascination. Not only your words are witty, clever and at a level that kids can understand, but your rhythm is always bouncy so the kids would tune in completely to the music of your pieces. :)S

No wonder it is your favorite, too cute for words! Makes you wonder what it would take for him to burst into full blown smile! Lovely, a very positive thought for the day.
