What a brilliant half smile! if he had used all his smile he could have conquered the world easily.A whole world of happiness would bloom if many of us would smile.
Was the choice of name Ezekiel ,a random one ? there is a prophet by the same name in Old testament ,isn't thee?

Sanku, thank you. Yes, there is a prophet, but I only used Ezekiel because it sounds cool and has the right meter to it :-) Brooke

I love this clever, winsome creation and Slawyer is such a delightful little fellow that his half smile just adds to his charm.
A perfect series of rhyming quatrains and a delightful image.
A virtual six from me.

This is so sweet. I think it is a lovely children's poem. And even though the little one only has half a smile, it is
heart-warming. Wonderful words in this delightful pome.

Oh, he is such a cutie. He looks quite blonde in the picture. Love the idea of outdoing the sun. A smile can heat up the body too. A wonderful idea in the last stanza.

LOL x 3! Brooke you'd be an excellent children's writer. I can SO see this poem in a children's book of poems. THIS is pure fun and has a bouncy meter that kids would just love. If your NOT laughing after you read this or after it's read to you, there's got to be something wrong with you. Sawyer is SO lucky to have you as a grandmother! I'm not saying that for brownie points either. I so look forward to the smiles you send. :o) Helvi

What lovely ideas you get for your poems, Brooke! Just half a smile can change things, and a full one can do wonders.

the sun would never have to shine
so bright the world would be

Yes, surely! Love the last verse. The poem flows so well and sounds like music. Little Sawyer is all grown up! :)

Hello adewpearl, Brooke, This poem is so endearing. Your first line was a show stopper.

Of note:
Ezekiel had half a smile,

(Ezekiel had a half smile, but Sawyer had the brightest smile--his smile was seen for miles and miles. Brooke, that is the one, and only thought, that I had when I read your poem. Like I said, the first line was a show stopper along with that little, handsome face.)

Another goodie that made me smile too. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer
