This is a side of Sawyer I haven't seen before. Playful, mental adventures, no slide to slide, no pony to ride, just visions of his own making, the whole world on his inside.

I like this new side because I can relate. I'm a dreamer by nature myself, still filled with a hopeful curiosity 5 + decades in the making. I too believe "so many things beneath the sun/are yet to come."

Thanks, Brooke, for posting this little tribute to imagination. Be well.

curious novice, thanks so much :-) He is quite observant, not always on the run. Last night when my daughter yawned, he commented - Mommy's tired. Goodnight, Mommy :-) Thanks so much :-) Brooke

Hi Brooke, this poem just made me smile. All of your poems have a subtle sense of peace and joy behind them--which in turn make them a joy to read. Excellent use of the octogram and the message never took a backseat to the form--a truly wonderful result.

Another beautiful poem with those charming pictures of Sawyer.
The lovely wording and style in which you write the poem I can visualize that
Sawyer is presenting it.
One day I'm sure he will be and chuckling with you about it.
Just lovely.

I believe the only time I would stop
to read children's poetry is if it
came from you.
I am enthralled with all your many
forms of writing, writings where
I am never disappointed in the
song they sing, or just the majesty
of the melodies that your words
caress the heart with.
Well done

Great job on this complex form, Brooke! I enjoyed the meter in this piece; feels almost syncopated in places.

Great rhymes and such a wonderful theme of all the wonder that awaits the young. Sawyer is such an inspiration for you!

Enjoyed it very much. Thank you for sharing!

As always I love the message of your poem. It may be addressed to the children but its message also rings true for the adults. Whether a mere child or an adult, possibilities do abound and are looked forward to with great expectations. Thanks for sharing, God bless.

Brooke, this is a lilting meter that of a playful pony running in a meadow. The positivity of the message is uplifting-a joy to read. :0 GracieAnn

Nicely done Brooke. You captured the plausible thoughts with great imageries and the emotions through great penmanship for your little Sawyer.
I really do think that the World's Records people should drop by and start a new record for the most poems written for and to or inspired by, a grandson.

love your child like thoughts
