I love this poem filled with childhood's grand expectations.

What a sweet thing to say :-) Thank you so very much, Diane. If either of them smiles, I want to know! If they just burp, keep it to yourself. LOL Brooke :-)

I love this poem, it reminds us that the child has his whole life ahead, but he must take in stages.
I contemplate the things I've heard
are yet to come,
for I am new and life for me
has just begun.

A beautiful image of Sawyer.

Well done. Mary

So special. Yesterday, I saw the ultra-sound of my grandchild at 20 weeks. New life is wonderful, and you brought tears to my eyes with your words. Young minds, a clean slate, eager to absorb and learn. And what fun it is for us to watch them! I think we get a chance to be a child all over again. Especially grandparents! We're allowed to be a bit daft, don't you think?

I love the examples you chose, Brooke, and Sawyer's adorable expression is perfect.

Thank you for sharing.

Av, thank you so much. Those ultrasounds are wonderful, aren't they? It is a great thing to be daft about. LOL

The newness of life. When does it become routine? Where we don't notice everything around us. Our life becomes to fast pace. I loved your poem.

Wow! The actogram style poem seems a very difficult poem to write, yet you seem to specialize in these difficult feasts. I love the alliteration of "tuba's oompah.

Hi Brooke.
An always enjoyable octogram with it's upbeat repetitive phrase('are yet to come'), fine rhyme and even tempo is a fantastic way to start the morning. :) e

Nice alliteration:

I really enjoyed this piece. I often have a foreboding sense when I think about the future of the human race, I'm expecting things to get much worse before they get better. That's why I enjoy a light-hearted piece such as this one. The flow was great and I loved the assonance of tuba's oompah. Great work here, as usual, thanks for sharing.

This is a good picture and hid expression does seem to be very pensive. If we could keep a child's imagination of the good and adventurous things to come and not have to put them off for the responsibilities of adulthood. Most of us still wish to know what is to come and hope it is traveling to some far off place.

Keep writing

Joan
