This is so lovely. The world is wide-open for a little tyke like Sawyer. I like all the sights and sounds you mention. Castles, hippos, cuckoo birds are all out there. Great sound with the tuba's oompah. The rhyme and flow are perfect, and fit the mood of the poem. An upbeat thought about all the adventures that await for those ready to explore. judi

This is a wonderful poem. I love the child-like voice that communicate your theme. The rhyming enhances the piece. That handsome lad looks deep in thought. :)

Your poetry always seems so personal and gives readers a glimpse of your life. I thought the poem had good rhythm and flowed smoothly. It seemed very clearly expressed. I enjoyed it. Thank you.

The possibilities abound,
adventures that might roll around --
so many things beneath the sun
are yet to come.

Contemplate - is a lovely poem - I can just see Sawyer there, contemplating all the wonderful things in life to come - you've captured his look so well, Brooke.

We are introduced to a young person "contemplating" the world around him, wishing new adventures could begin.
Excellent use of refrain to emphasize your theme.
Some amusing wishes only a child would ponder like meeting a cuckoo bird and traveling with a hippo herd.
Good rhymes throughout.

So many things to discover in one's lifetime. A lovely Octogram - although, I'm not sure where you modified it. The flow was very smooth.

The poem is light and airy, and makes this reader think of all the things that Sawyer will discover as he grows up. There is such a lot of marvellous things.
Rose.

Oh, the wonderful innocence of childhood, if only it could last. Time takes it away from us, though. Good poem and a nice picture of Sawyer, Brooke. I enjoyed reading it and seeing the picture. I have no suggestions.

I feel so jealous of Sawyer. His life is filled with new adventures for him to discover. I just wonder when he gets older what will he think of these poems? A wonderful octogram. Thanks for sharing. Les

WOW, another sensational poem you have here, Brooke. The picture of Sawyer does look as though he is contemplating. Beautiful job you have done here. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Brooke,
Ahhh, the anticipation of life to come...the to's and fro's, and the highs and lows of a life unfolding. Wow! Where did the time go...? Of course, experience has taught me to give "Cuckoo Birds" a wide path, lol. I appreciated the thoughts of the beginning of the adventure, (wish I knew then...sigh). Nice thought and delivery in this well metered write, best wishes, Bill
