How fitting these words are when they are applied to a young child. The whole world awaits the young. They can go anywhere; attempt anything; think about or create anything. Oh how I envy the young. The unfortunate thing is that very few if indeed any of the young realize how much awaits them. By the time they figure it out, much time will have already been wasted. Sadly those of us who know this may not be able to convince them of the need to be busy living and enjoying this great gift called life.

Hi Brooke...and I wonder who the so handsome little boy is. Lol. The poem is so very uplifting and beautiful! So great to be back reading your work again. I have thought of you often. I was quite ill for a while because of too much carbon dioxide in my blood, so I feel very blessed indeed for recovery.
Hugs, Rebecca

Brooke:
No doubt, Sawyer is totally absorbed in something in
this picture. I tried to get a picture of Alexis
while she was totally absorbed in making a fox puppet
at her birthday party this afternoon - but by the time
I realized what she was doing, the moment was lost.
Love this contemplation poem - no telling what he
was contemplating.
love,
jan

The lost moment happens to Miranda all the time - she is forever telling me about the missed perfect shot :-) Thanks so much, Jan. Sounds like she had a fun party with a puppet show! Brooke :-)

So much of life left ahead for Sawyer, who is a right handsome man already. He is quite the muse for grandma. The poem is excellent and full of fine and fun things for Sawyer to experience and become one day.

It is quite obvious that you love your grandson Sawyer deeply to include his photograph in each or most of your work. Nice composition as always in your lovely work. Don

Brooke, I can't help it. I have to mention this for the hundredth time. Sawyer is so sweet in this picture. He could win a photo contest. He is very photogenic. I could see him on a bill board advertising something or on a calendar. I hope all of his pictures will be in your poetry book, possibly called, "Adventures of Sawyer" or with another title of your choosing!! Ha. I love your poem as always. Carole

Great poem. There is something about it that is so compelling. I love the, "I am new..." sentence and the last verse is perfect, with the "I'm told there's some," and "...some say they're fun." Loved it. Easily worth a six.

This truly is an amazing picture of your grandson, Brooke. What a wonderful way for him to later explore different poetic forms through the poetry written around his pictures. It's a joy to be reading it! :-) Janet
