Do you intend to travel to an exotic place? That is the question you have left me with after pouring over your verse. It would seem you are well known around here so maybe it is not my place to question. I am glad to have read your verse.

Phoenix Divine, thanks so much :-) I would love to travel more, but sadly, haven't the funds. Brooke

Oh this is so good and makes me tear up missing my little ones so... Wishing i did, or responded in better way in certain instances... Their sweet innocence as " the race waits for them to run"! .... Loved " the castle rising from the sand"

Man you have done this really well. I loove how you have just picked a simple life concept, and just nailed its description so effortlessly. Great work.

How do we define happiness. Wise men say that we need return to the state of child-like laughter. Then the child is father to the man when he awakens to a state of awareness, instinctive understanding and is content with who he is and what he has. Most of us settle for second best. Then; "We are such stuff as dreams are made of and our little lives are rounded with a sleep." -William Shakespeare.

Lovely poem Brooke.Your words show a life's future adventure for a young child. How your little grandson is inspiring you to write such perfect poetry. LOL Gaye

A fabulous photo of sawyer .As usual I loved your poem ,its absolutely positive outlook, eagerness to savour whatever life has to offer and above all the perspective of a child -its a tonic for my tired mind.Thank you for your poems.

I like that this poem feels formal/predictable and yet also playful and whimsical with lines like:
"Perhaps I'll meet a cuckoo bird
(I'm told there's some),
or travel with a hippo herd
(some say they're fun).

I like the innocent feeling in this poem. Only pleasant things were mentioned. It's such a different life than what we imagined when we were young. We are so innocent and naive when we are young. And it's better that it's the way it is. Don't scare the children. Great poem and great word choice!

We must contemplate what will we leave for the next generation. I got the sense that you are reflecting on this also. There are questions if we will still have art and music in our schools, if our beaches will erode into the sea, and if some animals could become extinct in just a few decades. We do have much to contemplate. Nicely versed..
