Dear Brooke, I love this poem. You are so right. The best is yet to come. I really like your poems like this that tell a little story and involve Sawyer's life. Thank you for sharing, Shirley

That beautiful face.
His spirit and future come through every word and line.
My nieces have nicknames.
One is Awesome and the other Amazing.
They really are those adjectives and so much more.
They live their young lives to the fullest.
I wish the same for him.

As is he.
The oldest is a magazine editor and the younger one a teacher.
Our young teacher has taken the baton from her Aunt and Uncle.

Wow, Sawyer has alot to look forward to. The poem is beautifully written and the flow of words so smooth and even. You did a great job as usual.

Thank you so much, Joy :-) Talked to him on the phone a half hour ago - he just chatted away even though he is experiencing his first cold. When his mom told me about his runny nose, he chimed in with his own rendition of "runny nose." LOL Brooke

By God, Sawyer does look like he's contemplating which fits your poem very much. You have you handled your rhythm and rhyme so well that made a very we understand your poem. Your internal and external rhymes when either forced, labored or strained and very cleverly accomplished. thank you so much Brooke for sharing this with others including myself. May you have a good one and God bless.

You must have hundreds of pictures of Sawyer. This one is precious. Love the modified octogram Brook...
The possibilities abound,
adventures that might roll around --
so many things beneath the sun
are yet to come.
He deserves all the dreams he can muster. :-) Nancy

nope, all the phone calls and face book videos and dozens of still photos don't come close to the rare occasions I get to be there in person

Dear Brooke, this is a delightful children's poem. Lovely colorful word play that I think kids would love. I hope you make and publish a book with all these. Kids would so enjoy it. Great writing as always with smiles thrown in for good measure. Great pic of Cutie Pie - he looks like he is contemplating the world.
Thanks for sharing it.

This is a wonderful write Brooke. It shows that much more is yet to come. It's beautifully done in Octogram style, though modified. And ... what a wonderful picture of Sawyer.
