Hi Brooke.
This piece especially in that second stanza, has a different rhythm than much of your work. It sort of stops and pauses at full stop then moves on. I liked that. Great work. Sawyer is a cuttie. xoxo Debs

Debs, thank you so much :-) I love the strong cadence of the octogram, which creates that characteristic rhythm :-) Brooke

This is another lovely poem for the reader to contemplate in this piece of writing from the author. Sawyer is at the heart of things once again. Well done.

Comment from The Death
A new life is full of possibilities, yet to explore the beauty of this world.
I like this pic of sawyer where he seems to be thinking deeply(too serious for his age). :)
I like the use of parenthesis which makes this more enjoyable to read. It is simple but delivers a nice message.

"are yet to come". Endless possibilities for the young but they must grasp the opportunities appreciate the music, or "travel with a hippo herd" when the opportunities present themselves.
A fun poem that speaks of things that "are yet to come".

I don't know what the rules are, but I love this piece. So, I say it is most successfully done. I like the phrase "are yet to come" it has a nice sound and meaning to it. Your examples are clever and fun and lend a sense of wonder to the world and make me think of possibilities. Perfect picture. what a little inspiration! mikey

This is a great poem Brooke, with a great picture of your grandson to go with it. Your words flow well in rhyme well as you tell of this truth in life. We look at the little ones and wonder what they contemplate and what they will see and go through while on this earth.

Dear Brooke: thanks for sharing another very lighthearted and totally delightful encounter with the mind of Sawyer's loving poet! This will be quite the remarkable book! Vance PS: this is every bit a six and more but the quota's gone already.

A very contemplative picture of Sawyer. You have thought of some fun and unexpected things that might be yet to come, and that's part of what makes this poem fun. Thanks for sharing, Anita
