Hi, Brook. Been off the site for several months. Married now and Alyce (my new Honey) writes pretty good verse herself. This little Valentine piece conforms to your usual high standards: impeccable rhyme, tight meter, and wonderfully crafted sentiment. What is the "Are you human? 2+2=" box all about? I'm afraid to fill in the too obvious 4 lest it's a trick question and I look like a fool.--Jack

Jack, thanks so much, and congratulations on your new marriage!
They've had the are you human box over at fan art for a while. I hadn't seen it here yet. Anyway, you always seemed human to me :-) Brooke

When we find true love our song is complete. I see the joy in Sawyer's eyes and I can't help but smile. I am enjoying watching this young man grow up almost as much as you are.

Awww . . . what a sweet Valentines poem, Brooke; and of course, the picture is just as sweet. I like the idea of two participating in the making of a song, which I see as a metaphor for a loving relationship.
My best to you in the contest.

How very sweet, this Valentine Duet and Sawyer seems so happy, enjoying every note that he & Nora play...A heartfelt message for not just the young at heart, little ones & those older that have a love they cherish & can share so much together..C.

Good use of the abcb rhyme scheme. Good end rhyming. Good description that creates a clear image in my mind. Good alliteration. Good rhythm and flow. Good complimentary photo followed by a clear message.

Thank you, Lakeport. Nora, at five, has been taking actual piano lessons for a few months. Sawyer, at 20 months, is just doing his own thing at this point. LOL :-) Brooke

Beautiful poem, Brooke. The whole point about the Valentine thing is the "twoness". And that photo is a work of genius: black and white is exactly right, and little Sawyer's face has been caught at just the perfect millisecond!
