I enjoyed this piece. It is very witty and straight to the point (I guess with so few words it has to be). It is humorous the way you get your points across. You're very good at it - I applaud you, my friend. I did enjoyed this piece very much - especially the line "pen-armed bandit." That was great.

Thanks, Eigle. Can't afford to waste words in short poems. That's the secret.

Hahahahaha, oh my, now I have yet another reason not to enter prompts. LOL. Shari, you slay me with your wit - you are clever and irreverent - my kinda gal. :)

I see you're tackling the subject matter of a new dude on the block along with a couple of other writers. I wonder if his agenda is to market himself or his writing!

Good one! I'm sure this happens a lot. I recall a recent contest where the items to be included were SO specific that I had a strong feeling the one who set it up had written something dazzling with exactly those features. Others must have thought the same, since I think only one or two entered.

An interesting observation and a lesson for the sponsor. I didn't review your Rogue poem. After three from other writers, I lost interest in the man. Even Ray (Mountainside) wrote a poem about him! Didn't review that either. At least, I caught up. LOL

Awww... Gloria MADE me write it! I had no intention of wasting ten bucks on a certificate for the silly thing, not to mention precious pumps. Now I'm pouting. I will tell her that I wasted my time since the coolest of the cool didn't even read it. Sigh... snif-ff-fff-f... sob-bb-b-b-b-bbb.
Comment from Gloria ....
Very apt senryu Shari. I love the pun for the one armed bandit. It is rather like a slot machine isn't it, these FS contests I mean.
Excellent irony.

Thanks, Gloria. This sort of thing does happen.

I would try to write something sensible for a fist full of money like that but my sponsor might object. Like this it is fun

Pen-armed bandit--that's clever!
I've noticed you've been riled a bit about FS contests---we've all been there! I stopped participating long ago (mostly) in the prompts, though sometimes I vote when there is a much-deserving entry I've reviewed. ON occasion, the best poem does win--but it is rare!
Good satire write with outstanding word economy an good alliteration too.
Love,

I don't usually go there. Who has time to read all entries and that's the fair way to do it. Just searching for subject matter that's sure to entice readers. :-)
