Blind entries means your fans won't know until the contest is over and it's too late to vote. You're better off just posting a piece.

Doesn't all this competition draw people away from the purpose of the site.
I view it as a first draft for view by other poets and their comments. I enjoy and am amazed by how creative and clever some my fs friends prove to be. This pop up problem seems so child like. What a waste. Smiles, Robin :)

The contests are actually an advertising ploy. People love to take chances on winning.

It certainly seems that votes mysteriously appear just at the right moment sometimes. I know that it crosses my mind to drop a hint when I need one vote for ninety bucks. I am just too wonderful to do that or too afraid of getting caught. One of those. Hahaha. mikey

I have boycotted the blind contests since they were first introduced. I think they are the worst thing ever introduced to the site. I honestly couldn't care less if people try to identify the writers. I used to vote in contests where I knew who every writer was because they were all identified. All this trying to keep people secret is just plain ludicrous to me. And you're right, there are ways to know if one wants to know. Brooke

I have boycotted the blind contests since they were first introduced. I think they are the worst thing ever introduced to the site. I honestly couldn't care less if people try to identify the writers. I used to vote in contests where I knew who every writer was because they were all identified. Tom uses the promise of many contests to lure new writers to the site. I don't usually enter because of the price. But the prompts give me ideas and I do appreciate that.

I haven't finished with this yet. I don't enter often unless it costs two dollars. The FS legit contests promise money and hopefully, fairness.

this is very well written, spitfire, you did an excellent job writing this essay about "cheating tips" lol. i had a contest that i did and one of the entrants said vote for me. i told them right away they couldn't do that. they didn't win the prompt, but i can't believe the gall of that person

I've heard rumors that someone got kicked off the site for a cheating attempt. When a really bad piece win, I know someone has connections.
