Children delight in the simplest things, creating stories and worlds from everyday objects and events that many adults simply can't understand. I like how you expanded on his imagination and adventure, creating a story of your own from his prompt.

I love the lines in the opening stanza "as creatures huddle from its chills", and "shiver as its raging grows". I also like the imagery that the animals can't outrun the "bitter air", so they cower from it instead.

The strangest things grab kids attention, and to know and say "wind" is awesome. Home Depot could be a babysitter for them. Like the lottery says, "hey, you never know"!

exactly - this kid has been to Disneyland and the San Diego Zoo, a couple of the state's most expensive venues, but I don't think he had more fun there than he has at Home Depot and Target. LOL
