Sawyer is starring again and inspiring his grandma.
Written in grand poetic style as usual this poem takes the form of quatrains with aabb rhymes.
Loved this--for neither fox nor fleetest hare
will e'er outrun its bitter air.

It looks like Sawyer is imitating the wind in this picture, too. I enjoyed looking at the picture and reading your poem. It seems to describe the cold weather we are getting this year.
I guess where Sawyer lives, his mom and dad only hear about the frigid weather we are having.

April, thank you so much :-) Yes, in the L.A. area they've been having 85 degree weather the past few weeks. Sawyer plays outside in shirt sleeves. :-) Brooke

I enjoyed your poem about the wind and little Sawyer with his fans. I've got to tell you a story.
Your poem reminded me of a song by The Imperials, called "Let The Wind Blow".

This happened back in the early 90's. I was asked to sing at a benefit for the son of a previous pastor. He had fallen from his dorm window at university, and was hurt pretty badly. My wife and Linda Cameron joined me as we sang "Let The Wind Blow". The song's message, as well as the message in your poem, is that the wind will blow. Tempests will rage in our lives, and we need to trust in the Lord during those times. Ironically, as we sang the song, my microphone slipped in its stand, and landed with a clunk by my knees! What could I do? I just swallowed my embarrassment, and caught up with the girls after my initial fluster.
"wind is whooshing"...nice alliteration
"But Wind just puffs its chest and fills
its lungs to blow another round"... I like the personification here.
"boisterous and blust'ry" ... more alliteration
My favourite lines,
"neither fox nor fleetest hare
will e'er outrun its bitter air"

It is amazing how simple things like fans whom we ignore inspire children to find magic in them. Perhaps, if adults had this child-like quality, the world will be more magical and a greater place to live in although right now the fox and hare are having some issues.
