I thought Miranda's cat was Potato? Lovely picture. One could fall in love with Pixie :) Excellent syllable count. Excellent use of enjambment to enhance your message. Terrific rhymes of ponderous and wonderous as well as brooding and excluding.

The Signore household has two cats, Potato and Pixie. Potato gets more press because she is the bold one who spends much more time with Sawyer, and everyone else for that matter. Pixie tends to be more shy and reserved and often hidden safely out of sight. LOL
Thanks so much, Joy :-) Brooke

Are cats ever not in thought? Mine are. I have often wondered what does a cat have to think about? Oh well, I loved your poem. It flowed smoothly and there's wisdom about brooding.

Barbara, thank you :-) I think they're thinking about the absolute life of privilege and pleasure they live at our expense. LOL :-) Brooke

I thought this was a great short write, and I like that you used a picture of a cat to get your theme across. Overall, I enjoyed this short piece, as usual it flows perfectly and was well constructed. Great work overall here, thank you for sharing.

Thoughts can be
so ponderous
when weighted
down with brooding --
Better when
they're wond(-e)rous,
our nagging frets excluding.

Great photo Brooke. Amazing to see. A really fine write about keeping it happy. LOL.

Wise and whimsical in true to form style. Good rhyming, as usual, and fine flow. Love the presentation with cat picture--matches well. Fine alliteration on W and B.

Warmly,
rd

Now you see, therein lies the old rub. If only there were not frets. I tell you frets ruin everything. If it were not for frets, I could do anything, be anything, go anywhere, you name it. Every time I try to go out and have a little adventure, the frets get in the way and I wind up slinking back into my little hole in the wall and wishing that I were somehow bigger and better than I know I am.

Great rhythm, and wonderful flow from line to line. But then, I've come to expect that from your work. :)

Good job. I enjoyed this. :)

I like the rhythm and rhyme of this...ponderous versus wonderous. I'll take wonderous any time...yay! Good word play and the picture is perfect
God bless.............................
