Another outstanding Whitney! Words spoken so true. The mind is more open when wonderous thoughts are present. Stress is such a creativity killer. Perfect!

Perfect rhyme and rhythm to this little piece, Brooke. Few words, but never frivolous. There's always a deep meaning and/message in your offerings. I really like the juxtaposition of ponderous and wonderous. Much as we'd like 'wonderous' as a permanent state, we'd never appreciate it without the 'ponderous'. It's only a problem if we get bogged down in this one.
Cheers

I like what you are saying here - but I don't think this is up to par with your other works - the last line uses a forces rhyme which doesn't read as easily as in your usual style. The idea is excellent - Don;t brood - think wondrous thoughts. I totally agree.

Love the contrast between ponderous and wonderous... only YOU would come up with that!
when weighted
down with brooding - Very true! I think we get into habits/ruts with our thinking too. It's easily changed with concerted effort... from brooding to appreciation and wonder and finding the good in life. This message is for kids and parents alike!

Yes, 'Thoughts' seems to exemplify the content and tone of your poems, Brooke. They are always philosophical, wise and optimistic. I really like this one too, and somehow the rhyme gives it momentum. Lovely.

How true your words are, Brooke. They sprung to mind what my grandmother used to say to us - Kick that glum right out the door - there is too much living to do. Now get a move on! Thanks for the reminder....Stephanie

My pleasure. She was a feisty, fearless woman who was full of so many such pieces of advice.
