Just love this one---the message, the rhyme, the format. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could be more zen-like as cats seem to be. Although I have caught my two brooding or pouting on occasion. but usually when they are quiet, they seem to be deep in contemplation meditating on the wonders of the universe. What a lovely poem to read just before I go to sleep.

JP, thank you so much :-) I know what you mean about reading right before bed - there are times I read horror stuff on here and then have to go in search of something pleasant before turning in :-) I very much appreciate your generous sixth star :-) Brooke

Hi Brooke,
Your cheery optimism is always welcome. I like to say about myself: "I think too much, therefore I am too much":) (with apologies to Rene Descarte). Great job--Ted

Great advice, thinking too much can drive us crazy, but if we look at it all as a walk in the park, everything seems so much easier. I like the lighthearted tone of this poem.

Hi Brooke,
How very true! Wish it was easy to just not do it though! LOL
Great message (as always!)
Love the rhyming of brooding and excluding.
Love the pic. Cats have such great expressions, don't they?
Take care - Cally :)

A very nice whitney.
I like the pic of pixie very much(just made me smile).
Excellent rhyming here to impart fluidity to your words.
One has no control over thoughts. Your word choices are fine and suit the theme

Ponderous thoughts, yes, it does look like the kitty is in deep thought. "Better when they are wondrous"
I agree. Wish I had more of those wondrous kind. Me and kitty will have to work on it. :~) Anita

Honestly - how do you do it? I'd never heard of this form and when I read its definition, I thought "how clunky".
Not in your hands, though. This flows without a hiccup and conveys a clear message, too.
You are wondrous.
Thanks for writing and sharing.

Loved the picture of Pixie
I guess it may be thinking about
So many things within its own mind.
I guess food could be one of them.

Thoughts are the things that keep us existing as humans. They are the ultimate private, personal mode of communication with oneself. Thoughts are powerful. Everything starts as a thought.
