Hi Steve,
You've written a beautiful poem which has many layers and speaks to me of nature and the human spirit at the same time. Great word choices and meter, as usual but still should be praised and counted. I'm not an expert at punctuation so beware but it seems like there should be a period after "tug of ancient dreams", great line by the way. You could have the winner here, good luck!
All the best,
Rodger

Thanks, Rodger - I'll check out that missing period. I suspect my connection to Faith may be a bit weak to make this a winner, but I was pleased with the way the sonnet emerged - after a great deal of word-wrangling as usual with these beasts!

You got that right, mine too!

Steve,
Beautiful descriptions of taking that leap of faith,
in sonnet form and all, using the eagle's flight! For me -
just an outstanding write! I loved it. Namaste, Debbie

Wonderful to see faith treated with beautiful poetry for a change. I love the soaring eagle in this and the awesome conclusion as true and pure flight is achieved. The feelings hit home with so much more impact when the writing is flawless and poetic as it is here. This is a spiritual experience. Excellent in every way. mikey

What a lovely tribute to birds leaving the nest. I do love to read sonnets, as they flow so beautifully, as your does. I almost felt like I was flying myself - "Released at last from the tyranny of shell" nice line.

How very beautiful, this could also relate to life itself. To come into the world damp and cold, to feel the strength and power within start to grow. Spreading your wings and you feel the excitement of your first flight. Just Beautiful. Blessings and good luck in the contest.

I love the picture of the Eagle climbing out of the mountains. This is an excellent scene of freedom. The piece is very well written, the Author had to select the words for this piece very carefully, and did. Excellent work

This is lovely, and fits the sonnet form well! I enjoy the openness of this realization of "faith", and the embracing of the mystery of it all - what is it that animates us to accomplish things greater than what we perceive ourselves capable of?
but spirit feels the tug of ancient dreams
- such a wonderful line!
Best luck with your entry!
