The expression in this poem was good. I especially liked the phrase, "my heart feels your pain." However, I thought the first line contained too many syllables for a 5-7-5 contest. Thinking maybe I counted wrong, I ran it through a syllable counter online and it came out to 7. I would hate for you to be disqualified from the contest because of this. Consideration also might be given to changing the title to the Author Notes. Keep on writing!

Your syllable count is off. You have 7-5-5. It should be 5-7-5. The message and writing are good but just not right for the contest.
