Sandra, this is such a cute, whimsical poem that kids will love... some may not know what some of the items are in your 12 days list, but I think they'll still like it. Great job and thanks for sharing with us.

To tell you the truth, I liked some parts of it and didn't like other parts as much. Some of it (to me) rhymed fairly well, while other parts seemed just a little bit jumpy. What I do is: I read mine over a few times to see if it flows!!! Sometimes I'll end up changing something to help it to flow better.

Hi there, you must be quite a recent member, you really don't know my work. This piece was just a joke piece between myself and another poet on here. My Hedgerow gang (who, I am very proud to say, sold almost 1000, copies in the 2 days leading up to Christmas) have little 'visits' with Phyllis's penguins, they had made up their own version of the 'Twelve days of Christmas' with 'fish' being the gifts, mine, being mice, went for different cheeses, and you are quite right, it was choppy, I just couldn't get the cheeses to rhyme! LOL, it was fun trying though. I am pleased you like some of it! :) Oh, I always check my work and will not put it on until it is perfect. LOL. I am so sorry you read this one first, but never mind, I am sure we will soon get to know each others work. Welcome to Fanstory! xsx Sandra

Five...stilton...rings brought a big cheesy smile to my face. This continuing saga of the penguins is just delightful. I am sure that it will give great pleasure both to the children without and the children within.

So charming and brilliant fun, Sandra. I love the way you create such cute and charming characters and a laugh-out-loud story line. I particularly liked the five stilton rings in the song.

Wishing you a very happy Christmas and a great 2014.

Kindest of regards,

Julie :-)

Hi Sue, my dear friend, thank you so much for your wonderful review! I hope your Christmas was lovely, we had a very quiet one, just my mother with us, she was too ill to go to my son's home, so we spent a quiet day here. Tomorrow, I will be over my sons with the rest of my family, mum is staying home and then coming back for another few days, she has a friend who will be with her. So you must tell me about yours, send me an e-mail, your letters seem to get lost!! LOL, love you to bits, my bestest dearest American friend! xsx Sandra

You know Sandra, I am enamored with your Hedgerow stories. All of them are very well written as your stories are always filled with fun, laughter and sometimes a little mischief. This one is no exception my friend. Love the twelfth day of Christmas. Absolutely hilarious.

I hope things are well with you. How's your mom? Is your knee getting any better? I truly hope so. After the New Year's day is over, I plan on getting back to Cody and Alex's story. Been way too long. I'm really doing this for just 2 people, YOU and me. Well take care and love you a lot lady,,,,Jim xxx

I love that you have decided to visit Phyllis's penguins :-)
wonderful alliteration throughout
solid rhyming couplets
I am laughing my head off - Sawyer is in his fussy eater phase, but he will eat a Babybel any time of night or day - his eyes light up at the sight of that red ball. LOL Thanks for this fun poem on Christmas morning :-) Brooke

I am glad you enjoyed my bit of fun, Brooke. The funny thing is, my granddaughter Chloe will always eat the Babybel, because they are 'not' cheese, and we all know she doesn't like cheese! LOL. Thank you, Brooke, I hope your Christmas is going well. xsx Sandra

Sawyer's little girlfriend's name is Chloe. It is one of his favorite words to say. He calls her on the pretend phone a few dozen times a day :-) Your Chloe doesn't happen to live in Encino, does she? LOL

LOL, no, but she will be tickled pink when I tell her about Sawyer!
