Thank you for such a kind review! Your photograph is excellent, and perfect for this contest. I'm sorry, I should have given you credit for the photo in my notes... I thought it was the photo we were supposed to use and it was so perfect I didn't even look for another. You did a very nice job!

I was that little old lady four years ago. My husband of 30 ears just passed away. I could not stay at the hospital and weep. I just wanted to get some where so the tears could flow. I could not stop the tears from running out of my eyes. I was driving in a fog. I fought to keep the pain from wracking my body. I did make it home. I am grateful I did not meet anyone in a hurry. Great work. Good luck with the contest.

I am so sorry for your loss! It sounds like you are still having a tough time... My heart goes out to you.
I always try to remember that there may be something going on with drivers who do strange things... and I always remind myself that it could be me.
I wrote a story, not too long ago, for a sweet neighbor of ours, and it was about a woman becoming a widow and trying to get through it. My husband says I have some kind of theme going... I don't know, I just feel this connection. It's strange because I have never experienced it but writing about it, I feel the loss and the hurt... I cry every time I read that story and it's fictional!

This poem is so kind and sweet. If only, while driving madly to and fro, we remember, this is a real issue. Especially, with my late mother's blue haired friends on the road! And of course others elder relatives.

Thank you SO much! I try to remember that sometimes life gets the best of us and anyone can feel the strain... even when behind the wheel. And yes, those blue haired ladies can be quite unpredictable! Thank you again!

an interesting take on compassion. Road rage is certainty an apt way of describing what happens when anger just blocks out any other person in the universe. I liked the first verse the best, It was tight and packed a punch.
