Nice story about your cat's reaction to your dog being 'groomed, which is fun and I'm wondering whether we can know how animals communicate to one another and is this more about our anthropomorphic view of the animal world?
we see the world though our lens and what we perceive is happening I guess.
Nice read thanks,
Crunchie

Thanks, Brooke.
Not as funny as seeing the real thing - it's taken her almost a week to work out that it's only Scooter with a new 'do'.

LOL - cats are known to be snotty and conceited, but this little tale takes the cake. The last line bald and bony is such a hoot. Hugs, Lou

Love this! It's fun and I adore the personification of the animals. The age old battle between cat and dog. I wondered about these words (am I misunderstanding something?)
Ccied, "What's this trick you're staging?" -Ccied
"That hirsute mutt I'll tolerate; - hirsute
:)

Thanks, Av.
Ccied was a typo for Cried - you are the only reviewer to mention it.
Hirsute - I had already used hairy and shaggy and I needed another word with the same meaning. Cats have a wide vocabulary, you know.

Steve, I confess I had not heard of 'hirsute'. Should've looked it up when I read - I usually do if I see a word I don't recognise. I learned summat! Thanks. :D

This is well written. The rhyming is well done and quite rhythmical. This expresses typical animal behavior quite well. Good job!

Brilliant!! The exact same thing happened in my home, when our cat Shadow saw out Cavachon Buffy for the first time after having been groomed... she hissed and arched her back!!
You describe this so very well.
Very amusing, well done!

This brought joy! What a visual your words provided! I can just imagine the relationship between cat and dog...and her response to his hair cut. Your rhyming was impeccable...and I truly enjoyed this one. The few times I sensed your difficulty with rhyming...were handled well.
