Yours is much happier than my "Seven Legged Tragedy". Now I know what they're thinking while speeding along in the wind. Wouldn't that be cool, being self-equipped with a personal bungy deployment system? I always thought they climbed so well because they had eight chalk bags and free rope. Hackett was a genius like Jeb Corliss is to BASE jumping. A well rhymed perfectly rhythmic romp. Nicely done.

Fun ride! I get spider webs on my car side mirror too. Those little spidies just don't give up.
Goodness! 25 years for bungy jumping, wow. My husband wanted to try that when it came out, but I convinced him I liked his face the way it was, ha ha.
Thanks for the fun read, my friend,
Anita

You're never too old to try new things - maybe the two of you could try a tandem jump....

Fantastic fun...
I love the "within the line" rhymes of all the third lines, it adds even more to the silliness throughout...
Never thought of a spider flying around as a bungee jumper, but the analogy is perfect...

And yes, this one is a slightly different kettle of fish - these fanciful rhyme and meter pieces come much easier to me than the more serious poems like Redemption.

Your poem is as amusing as it is well written. The rhyme, rhythm, and verse structure allow an easy flowing read, while features such as the questions, alliteration, and great word choice add up to a great read.

Who put the devil in devil-may-care?
Those who don't care how many reviews they get.
Who put the hang in hang-glider?
Those who let it glide when they get three stars . Say hang it. And bounce back.
Can you hack it? Yes said Hackett.
This would have given a bounce to the abab contest.
Exhilerating write mate .Z.

Steve,
Isn't it funny what can inspire a great write?! In this case, a spider and it's nice web.
Hehehehe ... I thought this was terrific write. So very creative and fun. I laughed out loud. Alliterations galore with all of the fabulous 'f' words, and with "surfing so spunky". It started out great right from the get go, and kept on going all the way through. Highly entertaining. This one should be entered into some kind of a contest.
Great, great job!

Ha, poor little spider, it's never a good thing to be in trouble with the wife, but especially if you happen to be a spider. We all know, all too well, what frequently happens to male spiders after mating with the female of the species. They get their heads ripped off then eaten...
Excellent poem, both in rhyme and meter. The words you've chosen flowed quite smoothly, Steve, making for a very enjoyable read!

I think, all I was imagining was her standing there with multiple rolling pins - your scenario is way too NASTY for this bit of fun.
