A similar experience described! A sort of in-joke for poets this! I'd perform it in front of a non-literary audience though! ;-)

I think they would. The non-literary audience wouldn't but it can be quite good fun, for you and they to do it anyway. I have read a "scientific" poem to a non-literary and non-scientific audience:

Albert Pullbarge,
Was a T7 Phage,
In a previous genetic expression,
He was tired of his life,
He wanted a wife,
Not some surrogate bacterial succession.

It's actually not by me but was written by a non-performing, non-publishing biochemist friend of mine.
