This is a good chapter. Your transitions to memory and back to present were smooth. Your dialogue is excellent.

I didn't expect to like this, since I'm not usually a fan of this genre. However, I found this piece intriguing, and I would read on. Yes, the plot is very predictable, and the characters, at least in this chapter, seem more like caricatures than real people. But, the detail in the sex scene is very well done, and will, I think, serve to draw the reader in.

I loved the scene with the father. After the threat they seemed to hit it off and Nathan was accepted.
The description of the bed with all of it brass and crome as well as the clinging satin wedding dress and beautiful lace veil stick in my mind as I write this review.
Now we get to the love making. Her speed at taking off her nightgown, and raising her knees to her chest made me wonder if she hadn't done this before. She didn't seem like the virgin who was willing to learn, but instead a participant that knew what she liked. Now if he took off her gown and she blushed and he pulled up her legs to her chest and she looked wary and then moaned with pleasure, that I could see as a virgin willing to be taught.

I don't agree. I was a virgin in my twenties and I couldn't wait to have sex with my husband. Grace was ready for this. She was instructed by her mother(though I didn't put all the details in that scene)and she trusted her husband and he was gentle.

I don't know much about this story. The announcement of the wedding couple was good. Then the conversation between Never and Nathan had a good amount of tension and some humor.
