I don't have quite as many photos as brooke does of Sawyer, the most photographed child in the world! But, yes, I do have a few more ideas for poems.

As you say - the power of television! Great little story. I was often overawed by the power of skilful marketing in my days of teaching! Suddenly a new craze would emerge in the playground - the thing everyone just had to have! Nearly always inspired by advertising! A shame really! I'm sure it never used to be quite like that!

Bell peppers. A universal fight, it seems. The kids wouldn't touch 'em, but THEIR kids love 'em. Do tastes skip a generation?
Keilah has confirmed that TV does have a use - brainwashing children for good or bad. In this case, good.
A fun poem - a teasing poem? - of strongly rhymed aabb quatrains.

And yes, the television is a powerful medium of change. I stopped bursting fire crackers during Diwali (one of the most important religious festivals celebrated in India) after I started watching a cartoon show called "Captain Planet" which addressed issues on pollution.

I know all about Diwali, having lived in Singapore where it is also celebrated. Actually I was just reading about the big celebrations in Auckland last week - they have quite a large Indian population there.

Hi Steve, I can certainly agree with your Keilah! I never wanted to eat that green food either, still don't but I do it anyway. This is a cute poem goes along with her equally cute photo. Rhyme and meter are spot on as always but still should be noted and applauded. TV does have a lot of power over us, I use to watch the cartoon Popeye but still I rarely ate spinach. Nice work!

Very clever poem you have written of your daughter. They are so funny sometimes! TV certainly can draw a young one to its powers of persuasion. I wouldn't have known they were the same thing either (unless I looked at them directly).

That is the truth Steve. Monkey see, monkey do! That is an old clich©' that you have probably know. Children are easily influenced so we must be aware of just what it is they are watching. Good poem, easy to read with aabb rhyme. Good job. Nancy
