Thanks for the link to this. I love an old legend and this is delightfully horrible. To think when this was posted I had never heard of fanstory. Interesting to note you how you haven't improved any. Lol.

I had to check in to get a taste of your writing style and I am very impressed! The poem was grand the author notes I found to be very informative. Well done!

Thanks for digging into the archives, dusting this one off, and giving it a go, linnietwoytmez. I sincerely appreciate that, as well as your very generous comments and rating.

The entire collection of poems in this book are a style I created called "Picta-Poems". They all include sounds and or music to enhance the readers experience, be it horror, fantasy, or whatever genre they're dealing with, and there are even a few love poems in the collection as well.

It seems to be those who really like them, really do and are passionate about this style, and those that don't, loathe them. So, naturally, my reviews are often mixed. However, I create them for good people just like yourself who enjoy the reading experience they get when they read one.

    Thanks very much again. I sincerely appreciate you review and feedback. :}

Hey, that's great Vladilynn! I'll take all of the "hooked" readers that I can get, LOL...

Seriously, I very much appreciate such a glowing review. I will be posting a new one tonight entitled "Betrothed Remains" It's a tribute to Michael Jackson's smash hit, "THRILLER!"

    Thanks so much again...

Again, excellent presentation and enthralling words. I loved the element of the history, war here. Such an horrid massacre, and that room, wow, such an horrible thing. You did an excellent job describing this in a poem format.

Thanks very much for "dusting it off" and taking a look at it for me, Angel! Most appreciate it!

You're welcome. I had this in my inbox, I think, but I couldn't review it in time before the promotion was over. I'm always late with reviews, I apologise.
reply by the author on 08-Oct-2013
No worries, at least you took at look at it, and I appreciate that.
reply by Jade Lawson on 08-Oct-2013
No worries. Not sure if I'll stay here after completing the novel, maybe I will, but I can't go on at the pace I am here. I have a life outside here that I feel I'm neglecting because I'm spending too much time here, also reviewing so much is taking out my pleasure to write, I'm over tired. If I continue, will have to reduce the number of people I'm following, even if that means they won't follow my work back. Even though I have already a few people who follow my work and I don't follow theirs. I just need to find a balance, especially between the site and my personal life.

I completely understand. If you feel compelled to un-fan me, don't worry about it. I take very little personally...
reply by Jade Lawson on 08-Oct-2013
No, I'll not un fan you, lol, and I am not going to un fan people, just can't follow all the work I've been following at the moment. I will continue to follow your work. My problem is more with people who post work everyday, sometimes two chapters a day, it's impossible for me to follow that.
reply by the author on 08-Oct-2013
You're not kidding! I can't do it any longer, either. I would follow your writing whether you followed mine, or not. It's very engaging.

So you know what I mean. I am 32 and a single parent. My children need me too, and I want a boyfriend :D joke. I can't review work every day. Today for instance, I pay with my debit card to post two works because I'm too tired to review.
reply by the author on 08-Oct-2013
I know how you feel. Not about being a single mother and all, but about being too tired to read and review. I just wasted another 5.00 member dollars on a contest yesterday, and my piece is doing horribly. No more contests for me!

reply by Jade Lawson on 08-Oct-2013
Yes, and I'm becoming too frustrated because I am following behind with many stories. You usually do great in contests, don't worry. I don't enter in contests anymore for a long time. I never won any, but got the second place in almost all. However, I got tired of the competition around here. people would rate me bad with non sense reviews, just to find out later that they were in the same run.
To be honest, I like more to be involved with the prose than the poetry around here. I think the competition is not so bad.

A fine production here. The sound effect of the swords had a real impact. I always appreciate your author notes. You certainly know how to take a piece of history and place your reader right in the middle of it. I liked the inclusion of dialogue.

This is a powerful poem you have written here. I've read about it many years ago but don't really remember all of it. You helped to refresh my memory

Hey, that's great, mizzkris20. You're a fan of Irish folklore and legend too, that's fantastic! You can find more places in Ireland that are reportedly haunted than you could shake a stick at.

I am most grateful for the fantastic review...

This reminded me of the army of the dead that Aragorn commanded in the Lord of the Rings...............the hordes of green dead...spilling over the walls......your author notes were even more horrific than the poem......
God bless

This tells a powerful story in a poem and it is quite a legend. Beating a soulless army, quite a feat. Your rhyme and the flow are excellent. You have wonderful descriptions of the actions. Excellent alliteration in many lines, such as "cannons belched blazing boisterous bellows." The language used seems in keeping with the time frame. I must say I had trouble reading this print style. Maybe you wanted to add a look in keeping with the subject, but I found it hard to read. judi

You are not alone, judiverse, I've heard that from a couple of others about the font. Somehow, this one appeared slightly fuzzy when transferring it from my editing software, to Fanstory's. I did correct it somewhat. I really appreciate you gutting it out, and giving me the honor of your fabulous review!

You're so welcome. A story boldly told in poetic form. We do have trouble with vision when we get to be a certain age! judi

I'd strongly recommend reading the Author Notes first before delving into the review. The historical background is not only educational; it stimulates one to better compliment this amazing piece.

The illustration and background hints the reader about the bitter and gloomy struggle of the opposing armies. Metaphorically, another classic struggle between good and evil.

Although the rhyme is not consistent, this piece has a nice flow. If articulated by a talent, this will make a good oratorical piece.
