That's a touching and very endearing story about kids who run away from their new step mom, only to find out that she really care about hem. Excellent poetic format using classic aabb rhyme scheme. Wonderful work!

I raelly enjoyed your poem. It deals with a very important problem occurring in many families. The rhyme and meter are perfect, and it was easy to relate to since I have four step children.

Thank you so much for the review and the great comments. I'm sure there are many wonderful step parents out there who care about their children and would do anything to make life better for them. My daughter is a step mom. I know she loves the child.

WOW!! What can I say but excellent in versing, meter and plot. Seems that the 8 beat couplet is becoming popular these days Beth. Well done, enjoyed the rad from start to finish. Deserves a 6 but alas I ran out.

Thank you so much for the review and the nice comments. I had it as a quatrain but that is what I always do so I grouped it as eight just to make it different.

This is a skillfully-written narrative poem telling a moving, lovely story--a realistic one because it fits so many families. God bless stepparents who really care for children.

What a absolutely lovely poem. Such emotion and such feeling enclosed in the words. I also loved the picture. Is that a real one of your kids many years ago? Well done I loved it. So often you hear the opposite especially in De Facto situations where new "Dad's" reject the children of a previous relationship. Lovely and thanks again

It has to be a very traumatic time for children when someone new comes in to "replace" their mother or dad. There has to be a lot of mixed emotions. very nicely done. Gdo loves you and so do we.

Thank you Evelyn, I really appreciate the review and the nice comments. A child is lucky if the new parent cares enough to break through the wall of distrust that children often put up.

This is a beautiful poem, written in octaves with rhyming couplets, that tells a story of two children coming to love their step-mom. Good rhythm and rhyming.
