Well, as an American proud of his county's prowess is this event, I congratulate the kiwi's on an outstanding job and an impeccably run race. The cheating complaint against Oracle USA was an unfortunate turn of events. However, it's no good to win if it isn't all above board...

Quite the amaaazing looking yacht/boat/machine! I don't follow the races, but did get to see parts of a race once in St. Maarten. It was fun just to see all the different boats. A great picture, and an exciting poem! Thanks for sharing, kiwisteveh!

Quite the amaaazing looking yacht/boat/machine! I don't follow the races, but did get to see parts of a race once in St. Maarten. It was fun just to see all the different boats. A great picture, and an exciting poem! Thanks for sharing, kiwisteveh!

I stole 'sweet dreams and flying machines' from james Taylor's song 'Fire and rain' - may be showing my age - hardly anyone recognized it.

Since Alan Bond went to jail, perhaps the Aussie heart is not in it anymore. I saw him interviewed last night but missed his answer on why we are there ... well except on the American boat. Hey how come NZ is winning and they have an Aussie skipper???? jk

I think it should be called the New Zealand Cup for all the attention the races are getting around here. This is the first news I've heard of it. But then, I'm commonly the last to know. Technical marvels, yes. Yachts, I don't know.

The musicality of the rhythm and rhyme enhances the impact. Nice assonant near rhyme with dreams and machines.
