A magical journey it was Dean....I love the ocean...you described the beauty and danger of the sea....I could hear the waves crashing and see the sea birds flying over head.....Hugs....Angie

Ahoy! And shiver me timbers and all that bloke! I can feel the salty spray of the sea and hear the bellowing of the mizzen mast as the creaky old ship bounds its way through the churning current. An excellent adventure has been created in this intoxicating journey that you have conceived. Very well paced and evenly balanced - it flows like the violent crashes of the sea herself. Well done - ye land-lover.

Till the last amen.

Hi, Dean. Wonderful graphics and the poem is unbelievably good. You are on a roll, my friend. I absolutely love the island picture with the waves and all. Bravo! Bob

Well ya certainly got me!! but you knew that didn't you?
brilliant but why would it not be any other way..love it
can I just say one thing and this is more to do with the background music..you sent me a link to backround music in my message box of crashing waves ebbing and flowing to the shore..it is beautiful and therapeutic..i really think that it has more modulation and sounds more like sea waves crashing..this although still appropriate has a more consistent sound..and sounds more like a stuck flushing cistern,,I know that sounds like a terrible analogy and I not trying to be smart arse..its just that I was going to use similar behind one of my sea poems but it just seemedtoo strong and constant a sound and became more of a destruction. you know the sound of gently breaking waves on a nightime shorebreak and a very still night..thats the effect I found I loved the most as backround reading my poem..please please don't take this as a criticism more of an observation..who am I to critique your beautiful poetic productions..they are always a pleasure to open

as always ( I hope after this! lol) dip

Heh, thanks kiwijenny. I've been trying to figure out how to incorporate smells into my poetry, although sometimes, it probably wouldn't be a good idea, LOL...

You've done it again.
You've produced a mammoth tale full of mystique and adventure and I get to travel this journey free of charge.
You've delivered a magical pictapoem which is such a fantastic background for this great -Ode to the sea.
For older readers though the white text fades into the white areas of the pic and is a little harder to read.

Oh Dean! What a simply elegant and beautiful poem! You've caught me without a six, yet again, my friend, but this is so worthy! Gorgeous phrasing, lovely rhyme - you hit the 'sweet spot' for me, too, as I love the ocean. I feel so badly I can't rate this as it deserves...EXCEPTIONAL**************!!!

This is lovely, Dean. It has a rhythm that feels like waves or a boat rocking. Slow and dreamy, it takes the reader along with it to and imaginary land.

I always enjoy reading your even tempoed rhyming quatrains.

Out of sixes again. I feel like such a dunce, not to have held on to one. :) ellen

Ah well, I always run out of the darn sixes too fast myself, BD. I wish the had a "bank" where you could save them up. So often, I run across an exceptional piece of writing (like on of you Appalachian stories, for example) after I've used mine all up!
