Well-written poem showing the stark realities of dying. It's refreshing to hear someone say: "how I loathe these days" (that's how I feel, too), altho it's not socially correct to speak of the true desperation one feels. Here's sending you some healing energy, for whatever it's worth!

Wow a chilling story of waiting to die, words that penetrate the heart and soul. A time we all no doubt hope never comes. Thank you for sharing this time with us.

I have now found the answer to the question, "do I want to know about when I will die?". It may give one time to plan their goodbyes, but it is pure torture. Thanks for reading and commenting. livelylinda

Linda, I know of what you speak in regards to time as though it seems to stand still and yet slips away so quickly. I had thought about this very concept just days ago.
Your poem resonated with me and I can feel the emotion dwelling within you. When you pass on, a little piece of us all pass on as well, as we strive to deal with the loss.
Enjoy what you can ... now and forever more.

A very good poem - good rhyme scheme but such a sad story. Reading your author notes I feel so sorry for you but at the same time full of admiration that you can put it down on paper. You threw away your bucket list - but did you manage to do everything on it! Your first stanza is very good, but all six a good read. Good luck Regards Dorothy

No, I do not have the energy nor time to do my bucket list. As my heart grows weaker, so do I. With hardly any movement, the chest pains begin and I have to stop and take nitro. Thank you for your kind words. livelylinda

The writer delivers a message that taps into the emotions of the reader. I like the structure of this piece as this piece rhymes well. The flow is smooth as the writer does a good job of taking the reader where the reader needs to go.

What a powerful poem! It is all the more effective for its simplicity and directness. What a dreadful state of limbo to inhabit!

A very engaging and endearing rendition. As you have put pen to paper and allowed us to enter this journey to a degree with you - allow me to thank you for your words, character and strength - as we all eventually go the way of all the earth.
Till the last amen.

I thought this was a very beautiful poem about a sad subject. Written I stanzas of three lines each, with good rhythm and rhyming. Nice picture.

I feel sorry about your condition; I wish things were better for you. Your poem expresses your feelings well. I like the word choice. The tone is appropriate with your theme.
