I am writing this review with both a sad heart and a hopeful one. I realize that congestive heart failure is a tough ticket, but I have lost a mother and mother-in-law to it. They lived twenty years after knowing it, so it's not Death in he face yet, it's life all around.

Bill, I been living with coronary heart disease for 17 years and have just slid into congestive heart failure. They have run out of ways to "fix" me. So, I was sent home from the hospital in July with the doctors telling me when I have my next heart attack (I've had six already), they will give me morphine for pain and send me to hospice to die. I am living rather cautiously at the moment. Thanks for reading and trying to help. Linda

Of course we're all "slowly draining life," but it must be especially difficult to know that one is close to the end of this mortal existence. How wonderful that you can put it in words that we can all understand.

I am so sorry to hear this. I was hoping it was a fictional poem until I read the author notes and realized it wasn't. I am so very sad for you and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. A very well written poem~Debbie

Dear Linda,
I loved the profile name. I popped into your page to check you out - was hoping that the poem was fiction.
I am SO sorry to hear about your situation. I applaud your courageous and unselfish decision. I wonder how I would accept it, though, if you were my mother.
I believe in miracles. I'm going to start praying for your health to be restored.
Much love,
Sonali xxx
p.s. The poem has touches of humour in the midst of pathos ... love the reference in the first stanze to "Here we go looby loo ..." :)

I can't imagine what it must be like knowing that you are soon going to die. I have a friend who had cancer 2 years ago and went through all the treatments and was doing great. Now it is back and she has refused the treatments, just wants to live her life the best she can. She has a wonderful outlook on it and is spending her last months going on trips to visit family. You are in my prayers Linda.

your poem is inspirational, sad and true. I am sorry about the Coronary heart disease taking your life, it is very sad but think that all of us are subject to death. I would say you are more alive than most. You write exceptionally well and pour your feelings into the lines. Some of us die everyday in little ways, cancer, accidents, terrorism, etc.,we are all waiting to end while trying to be busy and in denial
Big hug

A biographical masterpiece that
poignantly, but with artistry and
poetic skill unfolds the tale of
a man who faces what all of us
must, but does it with a soft
spoken dignity.
Well done

This is filled with heart felt expressions of your reality. I cannot even imagine what you must be going through or have gone through with this condition. One thing though that is true for all of us, is that our last can be any day. So your advice to forgive and have a clear conscience should be something we end each day with.
