Greg, it's always such a gift to find your writing in my message box. Your free verse is incredible and leaves the reader with spectacular imagery and powerful emotion. I love each line of your poem as it packs such a,powerful gut-wrenching punch. I just wondered if that closet door has a handle ... Maybe it's a sliding door that never really shuts tight.mi love reading your work.
My back lays (lies)flat against the sting of tomorrow... (Absolutely fantastic line!)

Smiles,
Karyn : )

Wow Karyn, this might be the nicest review I've ever received. You're so talented it means a Huge amount to me to hear you say that. I like your metaphor better. Maybe it is a sliding door. I hope it is. I've been pretty sick I'm but I'm getting better. I'm on my way. This truly made me smile, you have no idea how much it means to me. Thank you.

By the way, I have no idea what it is but I cannot get lay and lie right. I Always pick the wrong one! Its so strange. Its. Impossible for me to remember! Haha, thank you. I'm looking forward to being well again so I can write and review at my normal level. Thank you thank you thank you Karyn...did you know that my real name is Greg? My dogs name is Cody. ;)

I hope you do start feeling better and get back to sharing your talent. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who's missed you. Yes, I remember right when you first joined FS and I jumped on your fan wagon, you told me you were Greg and Cody was your pooch.
    Take care of you!

My gosh Greg, you are an incredibly talented poet my friend. Your words drip like honey from the nectar comb of poetic metaphor! Just amazing!

Sounds as a cheap drunk. Be still bed , the closet is moving. I was wondering where you were. I see you are hammering at poetry again. Enjoyed. Just teasing about the cheap.

Haha I like it! Yes I'm back at some poetry. I just wanted to post one thing while I'm recuperating. I've been pretty sick. Getting better tough! Thank you my friend.

I've got the same except mine are moths of fear.. And they eat away at more than sweaters. I know sometimes it seems as if the door has no handle, but it does- in writing this you have drawn a handle. Love the lines " it draws laughter from my butterflies- / whispers falling from a trumpet" as that is exactly what a butterfly laughter would sound like. I used to play the trumpet and- sensory overload- I can visualize that sound. Been out of sixes for two days, otherwise this would get one.

Thank you. Believe me, your words really do help. I'm just sick right now, on the mend, but its depressing, tough. Ill get better. Hearing stuff like this really does make me feel better I'm so grateful you read it, especially you.

Symphony of senses left to trick my brain,
as I beg for them to find sleep again
My back lays(lies) flat against the sting of tomorrow...

This door has no handle to hold on to anymore though

Who needs a handle when you have your butterflies? An awesome write Greg and the closet is a wonderful idea for a scenario.

This is an interesting piece. I assume you are referring to butterflies in your stomach. I like the flow and the tone of this piece. I feel they are appropriate to the theme.
