I am glad you wrote your author's notes as you did, for at first I wondered what structure of poetry this was, then I realized you were creating the shape of a football. How creative of you! Meter problems or not, this one painted a picture for the reader, and expressed your love of football in every way! :) Sandra

Excellent! All the football players are ready. I now I am. Great excitement about football. Will the Ravens hold up to the Super Bowel Camps without Ray. What will Dallas do? I love football talk. I listen and see who's right.

I wouldn't count on the Ravens making a SB repeat. I like them, but I don't see it happening. Dallas will do better this year, I just have a feeling. I hope the Bucs do better and I like the Seahawks. It was so great to see them get those 2 100yrd TD's against Denver. =} But I'm not bitter. I'd like the see the Jets just dissolve and have to disband, but I'm not bitter. =} Lots on new coach for teams, so will be interesting season. Thanks so much. Rox

Rah rah! Hip hurray! Real football it about to be played at last. I applaud your football enthusiasm, as well as your football shaped free verse poem, I can't wait to find out about Adrian Peterson and how my Vikings will perform with Christian Ponder at the controls and Matt Kassel in the wings. Very well done! Bravo!

Yes, I like the Vikings and hope they do well. It will be interesting to see if Adrian can break that record. He is amazing. I hope Christian does well. He seems to improve each year. Thanks so much. Rox

Your welcome, I lime your style here, so I think I'll try a Football formatted poem too.

I do not know how in the Hell you made poem in the shape of a football. but you get a 5 for that alone. The poem with the backbone of 'Twas the night before Christmas was funnee! I am not a spots fan, so did not get all your references, but it didn't matter, they just proved that you are a rabid fan. I could see you in the end zone doing your own little victory dance because the season is here.
Cleverly done.

Thanks so much. Making shapes takes a long time and drives me crazy, but I love doing it. Rox

Hi Roxanna,

I love the way you made your poem into the shape of a football. Nope, not ready for football. I never watch sports on TV or in person.

I noticed one little mistake in the line below.
Jaguars? Not on your life, not only are the(y) bad but they were rude to my Timmy
