Okay, did Sawyer just get a stuffed dragon? That's what I thought until I read about the gum! Looking at the photo, Sawyer looks as if he had bubble gum. Maybe he's looking in the mirror?

You just have to get this one illustrated. A verse on each page would make an awesome children's book.
From being afraid of the green dragon to becoming his friend.
Your rhyme and meter are perfect.
Please put this out there for other children to enjoy!(Littler kids than me. LOL)

Dear Brooke,
The smile that quivers on my lips has turned into a broad grin when I reach the end of many of your fabulous poems!
This was one of them.
I love the very first line ... sets the stage perfectly.

Firstly, this is a great picture.
This was a very interesting, entertaining and creative poem. I enjoyed the metaphor in it and the message that shows that we should not be afraid of the unknown, because it may not be scared at all. I think this poem is a wonderful way to show this to children.

This is an excellent poem teaching why there is no need to fear someone or something just because it is large in size. A healthy respect for the unknown is far better than a morbid fear of anything and everything we encounter for the very first time. We, I believe are born with a radar that can distinguish the difference between a snarling fang toothed monster and a smiling somewhat goofy looking, overgrown being that is frightened by its own shadow.

This shows that we like familiarity. Anything different is a threat, and that starts I think the minute we're born. Wish I could meet a creature with purple feet and green scales. Very nicely written. Les
