This is another great poem for youngsters. It is perfect as you start off in a frightening way when you describe the creature (Sawyer's expression is perfect for this poem) - Kids love to be scared - then you tone it down and he becomes a friendly monster. Reasuring! Perfect - don't want them going to bed scared. You got it just right! Regards Dorothy

Excellent. This is a teaching poem as well as a delight to read. It shows that no matter what a person looks like, they can still be fun to know. I liked this one.

Good lord, he has to be one of the most photogenic kids ever! Priceless picture, perfect timing.

Okay. The poem is perfect for the picture. Or perhaps the other way around!

This reminded me a little of the Dr Seuss poetry. The chirpy rhythm is perfect to attract and hold a kid's attention, and I love how you start if off quite scary, then turn it right around into a scared monster.

There is something quite endearing about a scary monster being frightened of the silliest little thing! I chuckled at the image of him hopping back when his bubble popped.

Lots of fun, Brooke. Thanks for the smile, both photographically and poetically.

Dear Brooke,
First I must tell you I loved that picture of Cutie Pie,
I was laughing at his expression for a long time.
A lovely post and skilled write as always. The rhyme is wonderful too...it just flowed beautifully as I read it aloud. I enjoyed it very much.
Thanks for sharing.

What an expression on our doll babies face and of to know what was going on in that beautiful little mind we have probably thrilled us. Grandma has done an excellent job with her poetry for sure. We are tag teaming this morning. God loves you and so do we. Evelyn/Janie

Absolutely cute. I felt like I was watching part in a Disney movie. It was fun descriptive, and interesting. I could picture the big green friend, who comes across so gentle. Thanks for sharing :)

Hahahaha! I love it :) Once again you have struck with a great imagination. I love that this big scary guy was chewing gum and blowing bubbles. Sawyer's going to love this one!

'My Big Green Friend.' Most certainly a very fine poem you have created here, and I really enjoyed the read very much, The best expression I've seen on Sawyer's little face. Well done.

This is a perfect poem to read to a child. It demonstrates that things are not always what they appear to be. The poem flows nicely with a solid aa bb ryyme scheme

First, this is a really great beard. Miranda's husband has a Zach Galifinakis thing going on in this pic and Sawyer looks like he just tasted a lemon lol. What I love most about your children's poetry, Brooke, is that even though it's written simply, it doesn't feel basic or rudimentary, in fact, quite the opposite. Your flow and story telling ability within your poetry is remarkable. Always a pleasure.
