Sounds like a wonderful place to be. My wife and I have been considering taking up meditation. It sounds like you've had a positive experience with it. Thanks for sharing, Ridley

I know many who fight this battle every day. Yes, it is a chemical imbalance that needs to be treated with medication but what is key to making it through is recognizing that the black emotions are not you, just part of the illness. And you do put them in their place, meditate and walk on out a step at a time. Keep riding/writing it out and each step will be stronger.

A life filled with thankfulness and gratitude
new found happiness, rejoining the light
A changing of both perceptions and attitude
each new day, success is within my sight
It's amazing what depression can do to a person's life. You did a great job of describing both the ups and the downs.

Earthwriter--Excellent synopsis for the analogy of "Winds
of Change:" scribe's medical problems can definitely be
compared to the "dark" and all the positive things done to
(get better) reach the "light." A candid depiction of a
personal/private disability that is debilitating and can
strike without warning, especially if medication not used
or improperly used. Thanks for sharing this poetic look
at a sober and somber subject. Hopefully, posting this will
help others understand what can work in order to get bet-
ter. A highly recommended read. teafor2

Your poem is inspiring! I too suffer from bipolar disorder and have written a poem about it. Although it is not quite as good as yours. Make a great day.

This is a very uplifting, straight on confrontation with the battle for
control a bi-polar personality must weather to emerge intact and whole...
or at least able to cope with the vagaries of this crippling condition.
I applaud the dedication to fight the way clear to the light.
Nicely done poem :-)

This is a poem about hope and tomorrow; I like that. I understand that being so afflicted makes for an emotional roller coaster, so I am delighted you have discovered something that works for you. I pray that one day soon you will arise, and you will have attained emotional freedom, entirely. You wrote a very cogent poem that will surely resonate with others afflicted with this horrible psychiatric disease. May you be blessed and favored!
