I like this one, I've been fighting depression for the past three years and I can sympathize with the message in the poem.
You can never truly go back to the time of innocence after that but if you learn to let the past go and move on time will start again for you.
Here is a six!

This was really very well written, the embrace of the light was strong here. The tragedy about bi-polar is that the other side is also as intense, but this poem captured the nicer side of it, full of hope, energy and will to fight all obstacles. Expressed this well within a poem might be the guiding light when the depression knocks on the door.

Well bravo for you! You capture so well the ups and downs - mostly the downs - and the agony - of this disability. I love it that your piece is imbued with hope and courage. Not so fond of your use of 'efface' as a noun though - it seems to 'force' the rhyme a bit? Also if you're writing in abab rhyme scheme, you set up the expectation of a regular meter - but your meter is definitely rather bumpy in places. I think if you worked on it, though, you'd have an extraordinary piece which would be VERY inspiring to many, many people.
Blessings,
Sharyn

Hey there Pal
This is such a moving poem. It mirrors my life in so many ways. Had I not got my new meds in 2001, my body would have shut down. I am alive and happy to be alive. Thanks for reminding me of how blessed I am

Thanks for sharing. I start every day with six daily meditation books. They are a great way of getting centered.
A different perspective can really move one forward.

I thought and felt this was a beautiful poem, and one with deep meaning. It was a very inspirational poem about overcoming. Read well with good rhythm and rhyming.

I can relate very well to the message of this poem and it's very powerful. Writing can help in the struggle of life I find. And having a purpose and an open rather than closed mind. Beautifully written and very powerful. Thanks for sharing this exceptional poem! Best wishes, Pete :)

Excellent writing here, Monty. Depressingly sad, melancholy, with just a hint of sarcasm infused into the message.
Depression is a disease, just as much so as cancer, AIDS, and typhoid fever. Those who say it's not have never been there, wriggling, under it's suppressing thumb of oppression.
Nicely done!
