The Woman Of Discontent

A weird poem I wrote inspired by Yasue's Surreal artwork.

A story in this poem appears somewhat kind of a weird and surreal as it clearly tells the very aspect of melancholic and sombre pattern of the painted woman's head, it speaks even more, so well slated. 07/820

Interesting take on the picture. The world as seen from the ocean, "where stars are inverted in the aquatic sky". It has a nice feel to the piece. Good luck in the contest. Ridley (If you ever get a chance, pull up my piece, "That Funny Feeling". I took my contest piece in an unusual direction, R)

I enjoyed this very much."stars inverted in the aquatic sky.' the ideas and metaphors combine to create a very surreal poem where anything can happen.

Response to notes: I'm a child of the sixties (teenager in the sixties). I never used any dope but heard about people ending up on bad acid trips. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw this picture! I like your interpretation--that the poem implies a world in which there's no gravity or logic.

I enjoyed your poem, it is your own perspective of the sad, odd painting of an old woman's head, using an angle that have not been presented yet by other authors I have reviewed. Well done, God bless.

This was an interesting poem, written in rhyming couplets, about the lady in the picture. Clever and colorful use of words. I enjoyed reading this poem.

Like your surrealistic interpretation of this surrealistic painting, really a straight forward look as it is a disembodied head submerged in what can be scene as a world in which sky is sea. One minor nit pick- "fishes" should be " fish".

It's interesting that you perceive the woman's head as being disembodied in a world where sea and sky are intermingled. Creative interpretation!
