I love this poem. It made me think of a time I was on the beach with my grandfather and now that he passed away I miss those moments that we take for granted not knowing what the future holds.

Another great picture to compliment, yet another fantastic poem with the perception of what a child, like Sawyer might wonder what the waters might hold..Though, since he isn't quite old enough to let us know, his Grandma does a good job with her talent letting us what he might, if he could..I really enjoyed the read, each & every stanza of this poem..

Hi Brooke Your poem is truly lovely. You words always show the scene and feeling, in this case wondering. Lovely rhymning and photo works perfectly with the story.

Hi, Brooke. The sense of wonder is so strong here. And I truly like the verse:
I even begged a weary wave,
"Please tell me, I implore,"
but no confessions did it make
before it died on shore.
Great job, as ever...:)

Wonderful! Awesome phrases, such as "all their songs are sung in code" and ...." a weary wave,[...]before it died on shore." You are just the BEST, Brooke! :)

Sharks! for one thing lol. :) I love the quick pace of your 8/6 smooth meter and unforced rhymes. It sounds great read out loud with "scanned the skies", "searched the seas, "beyond the bounds", "songs are sung"...etc However my favorite verse was the "weary wave" who died on shore! I'm kind of glad we don't know everything, what fun would that be? What would the world be without wonder? Did you ever wonder about that? LOL Superb! Loved it.
All the best,
Rodger

As always, lovely rhyme and meter :-)
An interesting take on the mysteries of the deep - they say we have less knowledge of the vast and deep flung sea, than we have of the moon, and
space from here to there.
I'm a sucker for National Geographic channel, and I am always fascinated by the new sea creatures they "discover"! And what we don't know about the ones we are aware of.
You are right though...the waves just die, never revealing what they know :-)

Excellent once again, and what a great picture! It took me a minute to realize the letters really spelt Sawyer!
I like the feeling of the poem and the mystery it leaves behind.
