This is definitely a tragically sorrowful poem. I cannot even imagine the sadness of having one of my children or my grandchild that gravely ill. You convey the speaker's worry and sadness well. Brooke

Now here I sit in this hospital room
with a heart full of gloom
Because I know the angle of death
will be arriving soon

oh, this is indeed sad - we suffer when our
children suffer - and hate them to go through
any pain.

good luck with the contest.

It is terrible sometimes what parents have to endure went their children are stricken by a formidable disease.
Your descriptions are graphic(head swollen stitched up tight; face black and blue; heart full of gloom)and heartbreaking.

Why would that be if the baby is in a hospital and is being treated properly? The angle of death makes this piece quite depressing. I am no doctor but I feel the verse "How come I let them do that to you" a bit unfair.

Profoundly sad. This poem gave me the chills. Very well written. The beginning was confusing, then came the sorrowful story. This poem will be a real contender in this contest. Very well worded.
