An interesting and insightful poem. Good work. I think we all have had moments like this. I wonder what will transpire when I am gone and my kids go through my things.

An intimate look into your past and a surprising disclosure of your own larceny. A revealing contrast between mom and dad. Sounds like a sad childhood.

Like you I keep the facts close to me, and no matter how many times they're reviewed they can shock, or amaze anew. I think you wrote this pretty much as it came to mind--and it contains some real gems. I enjoyed it. Kenny

'My Memory Box.' A secret room entered is a mystery detected, which very few people will understand, or comprehend. It is always rather exited as hurriedly as possible. Throw away the key!

I love situations where we are reading things that are shocking, it makes our mind work in mysterious ways, since the narrator memory bis getting worse these letters trigger her earliest memories which are more valuable than a pile of gold.

What a revelation about your childhood! You made the "memory box" come alive as you described its emotional contents. Yes, you are to be forgiven your minor theft. Your "shopping list" and "fridge" similes are quite telling. A fascinating piece of free verse. Cheers- Joan
