Hi Mike,

You did a stellar job in writing your two line poem and one that makes perfect sense. Your author's notes are interesting and informative. Well done, chey

Thank you! It's just something that has been on my mind a bit, especially with the news of things coming from this government these days. It's been tough so I haven't been on here too much, but that will improve. Always remember, when I am not here, you are missed! Mike

I think your poem is so true. There is hatred and genocide all over the world at any given time. It is just one of those things where like you said, people just turn their heads and chose not to look. It is sad.

I really wished I could dispute this review, but I couldn't get a handle on terrorism, until I looked at the crime problem in Baltimore. Where the politicians just pay lip service, and usually blame the wrong people and those agencies in charge prefer their impotence.

I thank you for the compliments and this review. Mike

You are so very right. These tragedies are happening every day somewhere in this world. The only reason we know so much about the holocaust of the Jews. Because it happened during world war 2. This was a well written article... John

It's a good two line poem that also rhymes with a great message.

I know how you feel about Egypt right now. It seems that both the military and the political powers don't seem to care about the people themselves. It's like everyone thinks they are just sheep to be herded around, and that none of the people have any independence or freedom in the country. I hope things turn around for them here soon.

In this case, I think the military has been doing the right thing, as there has been nothing but bad news coming out of Egypt, especially regarding the political. Since the change, they have been loosing so much that made them a great place to visit. I enjoyed this review and thank you for it. Mike

Well this is a message the world needs to hear certainly.

Very succinctly put.

Human nature: not always pretty or noble to behold.

everyday should be every day
I like the strong rhyme and the clear, compelling message you convey
You are so right - it is not just the perpetrators we need to be concerned with - it is and always has been those who silently close their eyes to atrocities, thus allowing them to continue and grow unchecked

The thing is, today it is the leaders in the Muslim world, I find it incredible that they permit those people to perpetuate terrorism in their own countries. I sort of contacted them and let them know they are playing the role of a fool and they need to study our forefathers. I will make the correction, and I thank you for this review, commentary and compliments' Mike

I truly agree with you Mike .....when we ignore the helpless, needy and situations that require essential love, support, and assistance...and turn our backs to it....these problems fester and create bigger problems....simple and truthful write.

I've been sort of helping to try to get the helpless not to tolerate their situation, while attempting to get the leaders to side with a moral stand against the violence. I thank you for the compliments and this review. Mike

The only thing I would say to add to this poem is a picture of maybe a modern day holocost and perhaps make the two lines four so it looks like a poem and not a Message on a banner. Otherwise great job in your selection of words. Keep writing.

I thought about that, but decided on just the words. I would have put up the photos of the priests being beheaded. I do appreciate you input and thank you for the compliments and this review. Mike

I think as gory as the heads may look.....it would give the pic more impact.

Okay - a two line poem. I get that. The severity of an unjust social movement stems from the masses who turn a blind eye - I get that.
But your two line poem offers me nothing new, nothing enlightening, it has been said before and will be repeated again and again.
But what is up with the chapter length author notes?! If you intended to impact your readers with a two line poem, then stop at two lines! Make your statement, and stand back.

You have completely buried your poem in rhetorical, unoriginal notes. Why?

Patti

You know, it is so infrequent that someone downgrades me for the notes. In reviewing I also consider them optional and it doesn't ever influence my ratings. Sorry you feel that way, but it isn't supposed to offer anything new, but to be a reminder. I thank you for reviewing this.

Mike, the notes rarely influence my ratings, just like you. But honestly, man. Look at the poem standing alone, suppose you were to publish in a venue in which the luxury of a lengthy explanation were not afforded you - the reader is left with only these two lines. How impactive are they? Do you only want to impart a reminder to your readers? What about imparting something vivid, something from your soul, something informative? Just sayin'

I will read more of you.

This is a sobering little poem I like the way you put the message across we as a nation tend to ignore things we don't want to see thank you for sharing
