A poignant write....it touched my heart. These differently abled children can be a source of joy too--based on this theme the poet has done a briliant job of presenting before us the characteristics of Lily. She maybe a little different but like any other child, she is spirited and loves to romp and play and she is very sweet natured as she smiles at everyone.
A very thoughtful and realitic write. The picture is good and the title most apt.Highly recommended!

yes indeed. no matter what, the prayer of a child is more or less innocent and they often just wish for his/her family to be protected. nothing greedy like help me win the lotto:)
thank you for sharing!

This really is a lovely poem, with a totally uplifting message.

Her infectious smile will win the hearts
Of all who ever doubted her worth
'Cause from the very beginning
Lily was a special birth.

what a great summation! Nice writing :-)

You have done a good job creating your story poem and what a great story it is. Lily is indeed a special child who has brought much happiness to everyone who meets her. I really enjoyed this poem and the message it sends to us about how special all children can be. Good job and good luck!

Wonderful -- most admirably improvised. Presented in an array of alternately-rhymed quatrains (a/b, a/b), it indeed serves as being a vibrant repository to the sundry facets of puerile imagination & nostalgic complacency surrounding childhood.

Characterized by a mirthful undertone of radiance, it carries the reader off to some long-forgotten land of desolate enchantment, characterized by lucidity of style & simplicity.
In a word, ADORABLE.
My wholehearted wishes to you in the contest.

what a sweet poem. I have a special needs grand daughter and she is a blessing as well. She can light up a room with her smile and she never really had to deal with being different. Now she's in middle school and every body loves her. Go sure know what he's doing. Sometimes it takes different to let us know it's okay to smile. nicely done

This is a wonderful poem. I'm not quite sure about the story in a poem requirement. It seems to me that you described a person rather than told a story - but I'm not a judge in the contest. The word choice is appropriate to the tone and theme. The picture is a good choice for this truly delightful poem.
