gramalot8, Such a wonderful, sweet poem. There are so many children (and adults) who have burdens to bear all their lives that we do not. I believe that THEY are the special ones who know secrets we never will. THEY are the lucky ones with a life we'll never understand. Let's love them all and thanks for writing this poem. livelylinda

Livelylinda. Thank you so very much for your comments, review and that wonderful six stars. They don't come that often and are so appreciated when they do. I'm happy that you liked this poem so much.

I think this is a beautiful poem that read very well. Great message. I didn't stumble a bit, which is a rarity. I don't offer advice on structure, but I want to help if I can. The only thing I saw lacking was more color. I hope that makes sense. With children, it seems they need more description to catch their attention. Just a suggestion that probably has no meaning. Very well done.

There's not much to say, except that this is a very beautiful poem, written from the heart. A lovely verbal representation, too, of the accompanying photo. Wishing you best of luck in the contest.

I absolutely loved your story in a poem about Lily and her stupendous animal friends. Great rhymes and flow.

This were favorites, among so many others:

She will gather Mr. Lionheart
And Snowball, her favorite cat
Mr. Marshmallow, and Fairy Princess
And Wolfie, her black and golden bat.

What a delightful poem - and I wish you all the best in the contest.

This is a well-writtn, lovely, touching, uplifting poem about special children. They are indeed gifts from God.

Comment on line 24: She IS different, isn't she--a gift and precious, but different too?

Beautiful poem about a beautiful subject! I love your style of listing several words in a row . . . "She'll run and jump and twirl and skip" . . . "She will gather Mr. Lionheart and Snowball, her favorite cat Mr. Marshmallow, and Fairy Princess and Wolfie" . . . These convey a sense of a young child full of energy & curiosity & joy of life, in everything she does. Really paints a dynamic portrait of the child. Great job!

I have only my words to commend this piece my friend. I wish I had more. I have been blessed to have many special children in my life, and your words brought tears to my eye. The 'can do' attitude, and oh my, those smiles...I truly enjoyed this one and I thank you,
karen

Lovely poem about your daughter. As someone with a sister who has a serious disability, I can relate to much of what you say. People such as your daughter, so positive in the face of such difficulty, are an inspiration to us all. Well done!

JonnyRhymes, Lily is not my daughter, but would be proud if she were. Give your sister a hug for me. Thank you for your comments and review. It is greatly appreciated.
