It does seem like you have it all, and you're blessed. You strike the right cord in this one, because happiness comes from within. If someone makes up his or her mind to be happy, they will be, no matter the circumstances. Nicely done!

this is very well written, gwhargis, you did an excellent job writing this essay about finding happiness within you to face life with a smile. our preacher was talking about that today. he said he used to be called the whistling preacher because he's always happy. he said it was okay for Christians to be happy and have fun as long as it was achieved without putting God out of the picture.

I have so much to be happy about that I often find myself feeling guilty because of my unhappy periods. When I take an inventory of my life and look around the world, I know I am blessed by God.

My friend, happiness is what we make of it. It isn't always peaches & cream. Your tale of hardship is one that seems to strengthen most families. My happiness comes from so many areas, of which my grandchildren play a huge part. I love your attitude Gretchen
