Dear Phillippa,
Great rhyme, superb metre and excellent enjambment to produce an enchanting, fun poem. However, as a self appointed purist and pompous guardian of the language as she is spoke, I must say this:

My closetpoetjester friend
You know I'll back you to the end
But, then no matter how you plead
You really have to fix that "fleed"
I know you'll plead your rights poetic
Although the word is quite synthetic
But, then I guess the Bard himself
Was prone to pull one off the shelf.
So, just this once, I'll let it go
But now I'm watching you know.

Best regards
Reg

LMAO Great review Reg, thanks so much and I had NO idea "fleed" was not a word. I based it on "freed" I guess.
Then again, I'm not against giving the Oxford or Webster a run for its money now and again.
Thanks for the sixer, much appreciated.

Ha ha, 'tis a cruel world for sure, for sure, but it seems to be the norm in these modern times, both parents have to work to support their family, because everything is just too damned expensive and that is a shame for many mothers who miss out on their little ones growth, day care, day care, bloody day care, they are everywhere, your not working in one are you, ha ha. Loved it !

You will be just fine. It is a blessing to be able to stay home with the kids, but, in the end they and you will be just fine. Take it from someone who was employed. :-) I am retired from the job market and now get to do those things that are not interrupted by someone else's time clock. And, believe it or not, you will still find time to write. Good luck, your poem is great. Carolyn

Oh, goodness, I hope the little ones aren't really hungry. It's a shame someone with your talent has to work part-time when you could be writing poetry all day and entertaining your FS friends. You do a nifty little job here, Sweetie, with your always-brilliant rhyme and spot-on meter, in letting us know why you won't be around as much as you and we would like. I already gave away my last sixer, and it's only Sunday, or you know, my dear, you'd be getting one from me for this very fine poem of yours. I especially love that last stanza of yours about proceeding to the job horizon.
Lots of hugs to one of my very favorites.

LOL No the little ones aren't hungry...well, one is but she is a bottomless pit. hahaha
Loved your review, thank you my friend. I love to hear from you and unfortunately this poem means even less time here for me, but I have the fire in my belly again for work and honest mate, we are that strapped for cash there is NO option but to make a bit extra. The good thing is I am working from home so I have the flexibility I need...Hopefully I won't be too run off my feet. I have a massive job on at the moment which will take me all of next week. Wish me luck. I'll try and stop in if I can.

How appropriate is this for today's economy! Unfortunately, jobs, even part-time, are hard to come by. Nice lines for a rondeau as the repeated thoughts are heard around the country. Love the image of a ship waiting for the winds to pick up. Aren't we all, at least in America these days.
Excellent flow and rhyme as always, P.

You are going to do fine. If you approach your business with half the wit you employ in your poetry, the money will come rolling in faster than a cyber ponzi scheme. Good luck. I'm knocking on those doors too.

    LOVED your review.
Thanks for the encouragement, but I barely need any.
I often tell my hub I crack myself up and I was born for comedy...then of course my bubble gets Pricked. LOL
Hey, there is a lot to be said for spouses and their functionality in keeping you with feet on the ground and a level head. I find Joan Rivers hilarious and fascinating, on a platform so damn high yet at the same time so self depreciating I couldn't begin to compete with that.
Plus I am also NOT quite that ugly. Still, no one except the hub sees me Sunday morning.
Now, go find some doors of your own buddy...

To paraphrase Fredrich Engles, "Work is the curse of the drinking class." this explains a lot:) I enjoyed your poem, it was very smartly done. Best of luck in your paperstackin' endeavors--Ted:)
