I notice you've been here since 2010, although I can't remember reading one of your works. You're of Scottish origin, I can imitate the Scottish brogue, but not the written version. Although many write in that form, more so in prose writing. Beautifully written, but in no particular form or meter, although conventional aabb rhyming, there's another Scot who is critical of my "old fashioned" style, but I figured he was a modernist, who writes only free verse. I like being direct, but not rude. Well done, blessings Roy

Hello, Alex,
Interesting poem with a huge amount of detail to get your poem through....you get four stars for good effort, however, I didn't understand your dialect and it was very distracting.

If you're trying to emulate the great Robbie Burns, you are definitely on the right trail. The style of this, the romantic sensibility, the Scottish lingo, was all there. It really is classic Burns. For us States side, the Scottish lingo is a bit hard to follow, but you did provide all those translations. Nice job. estory

Hey, I get it! Like the character your Scottish Vernacular adds to your poem! Very nice tribute to your partner.
As for the critics, I get some who read a whole fictional story i have written and cauterize me for a misplaced comma or a tense mistake. I thank them for their observation and move on.
I always remember, "You can please some of the people all of the time, but....

well, sir, I give you a 6!
I listened, and your tone, your small chuckle, your love and of course your brogue was just marvelous and a delight to hear. I cannot in all honesty say, that I understood every word, but most of them, I believe. Many times I think the main beauty of poetry is in the voice of the reader, and it is certainly true in this case.
Congratulations on All Time Best. It seems there are many who agree with me,

Good for you staying true to your Scottish roots. I didn't listen to your poem but I could imagine the words as I read them. Very nice job. Stay safe and stay healthy.

Well, I think your voice is intriguing to listen to and it is a treat to have you read your poetry aloud for added pleasure. The lilt and flow are lovely, I am having trouble envisioning more than one or two crabby folks not adoring this gift.

Goodness, Alex, that's quite a bit of notes you have there for us to understand everything. Loved the audio to listen to, which made the poem more understandable. Loved it all. Thanks for sharing with us.
