Well, I certainly learned a few things with this. First of all, I had never heard of a Jewish Museum before, but I'm really not surprised they exist. But the thing that raised and eyebrow for me is how synagogues have to make sure they have enough Jews around to actually stay in business. I found that very interesting. I guess "If you build it, they will come" doesn't apply to everything. :)

It does happen with churches as well, I just highlighted St. Leo's which I visited with the Italian Festival and that church is and will always be thriving, yet other churchs are closed down.

The vast majority of the Jewish population relocated in the county are across the city, which now has most of their Synagogues. I love their adaptive use as they still use it for special events. I also feel the info sheet is important as when it comes to Jewish museums, people think of one's like the Holocaust memorial which provides one with a somber, sad and brick between the eyes feeling.

I enjoyed this review and thank you for it and your compliments. Mike

Well, I love it too and can take you there, just can't go in! LOL I was half done this when I was rather hungry and went to the mailbox to look for a gift card I expected.

Instead it was my refund check for their membership and a letter mentioning it was refused because of my, "Behavior Problem." (love poem) I was so pissed off, I couldn't look at it for a month; the funny thing was I was more upset at having to cash it.

I decided to work on their body poem, and it drove me crazy for another month and I could only visualize the Old Man In the Bimah, laughing like hell at me. I finally had enough and yelled, after throwing something, "You enjoy me being a suffering bastard over this, don't you!" I detected him busting out in a smile, "So that what you want me to talk about in my poem for them, from your side of life?" I then saw a nod, and went with it.

Every aspect of that poem was problematic, especially because I didn't want the Holocaust element to be easily identifiable, yet that was not only part of their coming over here at an earlier time, it was part of many ethnic experiences. Then I had to developed the art work. You can call the Old Man in the Bimah my imagination, but a Facebook friend who is a paranormal investigator who had a daughter intern there, also mentioned it when he toured the place. I feel more beholding to him then the museum itself. Still, I loved that place and felt so comfortable there, which is what got me in trouble.

Definitely, if you are around this way, by all means visit and take the tour, it is beautiful. I enjoyed this review and thank you for it. Mike

I enjoyed this review and also thank you for sharing your experiences to. The Jewish Museum will most likely be my most interesting poetic experience, because a previous poem got me in a lot of trouble there and they honestly didn't think I was a writer, yet with this project, it really made me step up to the plate and represent them fairly. I still love the place and in one respect, wished I could go back, but on the other hand, because of the people there, I am totally disgusted and don't want to return. The irony is the problematic poem was picked up and published by Poems of the World. Go figure! Have a great weekend, Mike

interesting Mike. Are you going to post the poem here? I would love to read it. Or to my pm? :) Yep,the written words can be a problem as too easily misconstrued and there are many small minded people.

It's already posted in my portfolio as, "The Light of Love," along with the complete notes. The actual story makes the last chapter in my biography. What a total trip for me to end up with my final chapter titled, "Visionary Foot Prints and Gefiltafish." I was so happy for the museums adventures creating the final story, yet I prayed to God not to make it the perfect one, but it was as if I was destined to be an observor. The experience actually took me back to the same reason I decided to write my biography; somebody has to say something.

On Facebook I am amazed that I have friends from all over the world of all major religions. It doesn't hurt my idea of one God, but fosters it and continue to adds to my blessings. It also reminds me of my responsibilities in regards to writing, as well remaining true for the purpose.

I found it interesting the Jewish museum had the comic book exhibit. I am curious as to how that plays into the Jewish culture. I think that would have been a nice thing to add to this piece.
Overall though I found it informative and interesting.
One little suggestion:
and become St
I think would sound better as:
and became the St.

as well (as) a more modern museum building (which makes) make up the Jewish Museum's campus.
Mike, I think this essay goes along well with your poem and adds information for the reader. Here are a few things for you to look at to see if you agree ...

United State's (United States's) third oldest (synagogue??)

As the St. John('s) (congregation?) moved out

"Synagogue Speaks," (delete comma)

In the area as well, (delete comma) (and) how it fits

Smiles,
Karyn : )

I thank you for the compliments, corrections and review. I have been generally dissuaded from using, as well as, but all the other corrections have been made. I think you have a great eye in seeing things other people don't catch. Mike

Thank you for an interesting piece of history and culture in Baltimore. I was living in the Washington D.C. area during the 60s, but my interests were more shallow in those days. :-(

This isn't supposed to be a guilt piece, and in fact I am hoping to use it so that the museums themselves will appreciate their mission statements and responsibilities. If my father and grandmother didn't take me to these museums around town, a lot would be lost to me as well. I am trying to bring this to life as in today's time and budgets, museums need to be preserved as well, sometimes from themselves.

I enjoyed this review and thank you for it and the compliments. Mike

The writer does a good job of drawing the reader into this story with facts. Facts is the best way to lure the reader in because not only is this a story, it's a lesson. Whenever the reader can learn something from a piece, it's all good.

I enjoy this review and thank you for it. It lets me know that I am achieving my main goal as I am only allowed about 250 words to accomplish this. Mike

typo in Jewish in your title
The United State's - United States's
The museum hosts the, "Synagogue - drop the comma
practice; as well as community - drop the semicolon
Good clear and interesting information :-) Brooke

Are you sure that isn't the Biblical spelling? LOL Oops! I did replace the semicolon with a comma. I appreciate this review and thank you for that and the compliments, Mike.
