Treischel, I am sorry for the pain that Karen lives with. I know this pain from my 2nd battle with prostate cancer. The last and only procedure left, failed. I live with pain that is around 8 most days, but also, I am 100% incontinent and also suffer with loose bowls. I laugh, poke fun at me and smile all the time. You penned a very emotional poem dedicated to your wife. I feel from your words that you will continue to love her and support her not only emotionally but spiritually also. Very well done and please wish her well from me as I will pray for her,,,,,,,,Jim

I'm sorry about what your dear wife is going through for I have the same problem and more. I do as she does and rest and leave the rest up to God. She is blessed to have your love and help her through her storms.
Thank you for sharing.

Unless you have suffered the agony of back pain, few will understand it. I have and many of my family and friends have. There is nothing you can do but put up with it, and that is the terrifying thing about it. You know when your finally go to sleep,it will be there waiting for you when you wake. I feel for your wife, Treischel, and I am sorry for both of you. Its not easy watching someone you love suffer so much. xsx Sandra

Excellent and heartfelt. Beautifully written homage to the trials that you both must endure, your wife obviously the physical and mental anguish and your anguish to be unable to do more for her. It is so very difficult to exist through so much and it is with the love that you give that helps her endure. Bless you both and I too hope that there will be improvement and more good days than bad.

I love the picture. I love the poem. Pain steals days and years of your life. Other people quickly lose patience. You know you are tormenting your loved ones because they don't know what to do. I have lived with it for over twenty years. Guess what? I beat it a lot of times. I still managed to do good things with the life it left me. Great work.

Such a debilitating pain. Back problems are definitely hard to live with. I remember you mentioning that Karen was seeing doctors at the Mayo Clinic, they must have determined if it's a disk, arthritis or spondylosis, isn't surgery an option? Your verse is very touching and her pain is truly felt. A very lovely
cry for help. Tom, I'm not terribly religious, a little, but with my granddaughter, Aoife being born so early, I felt lost. Spitfire, sent me to (www.Unity.org/prayer). I know the power of lots of prayer helps. It's free, and you can donate if you want. I feel it helped. Just a suggestion. Smiles to you both. Hugs, I'd give you a six, but they won't let me. Robin :)

Thanks Robin for your comments and concern. The doctors said surgery won't help it's arthritis in hips and back. We'll have a look at that site.

Excellent. I love the, "Oh what can one person do,
When doctors don't have a clue?". I mean seriously, I can relate. I have to go to the VA hospital because am a military VET and trust, the clues around that hospital are clueless!!! GREAT poem.

I believe both of you are suffering -- she with chronic debilitating physical pain. You are suffering emotional pain that comes from loving her so much. This is a great idea that Ritchie has for a book, but you offer a heartbreaking start.

Tom, I know you will get lots of sixes on this one, but you know I'm out. This is so poignant and loving ..... it relates just how painful it is to see your most loved one go through the pain but are unable to do anything to make their suffering less. I send you and your wife all good wishes, best Indie xx
